Dawn Road rehearsal in 1972. The band was privileged to have a school concert hall - the “Aula” - available for their rehearsals, which usually only took place on weekends at that time. The hall was situated in the Robert-Koch Realschule in Langenhagen and was later also home to the first Scorpions rehearsals and recordings. This was possible, because Achim Kirschning, the keyboard player and one of Uli’s most long-standing friends, was the son of the then school warden. The amazing thing is that Achim chose to leave Scorpions in 1974 in order to become a full time
teacher and it so happens that today he is the director of that same school.
