“Jailhouse Rock” - Electric Sun performing in a Cologne prison for Radio Luxemburg with D.J. Peter Trunk - October 3, 1979. Uli had bought a new black Fender Stratocaster that day, which Sidhatta brought from Hamburg just before the show. It is pictured above. This is the guitar which appeared on a lot of Electric Sun shows afterwards, albeit with a white scratch plate. (HistoricPerformances DVD) The guitar is now exhibited by the Hard Rock Cafe.

The year 1979 ended with Electric Sun’s first tour in France, which included some excellent concerts in front of full houses, most notably, Strasburg, Mulhouse and Paris.
While sound-checking in Lyon, Uli had parked his car outside of the hall and had his suitcase stolen with all his stage clothes. He then had to play the entire rest of the tour in just a bolero jacket and a pair of pants. Three months later the suitcase arrived from Lyon at Ule Ritgen’s address in Hanover, who also had had his passport stolen in the car. The note said - we found a suitcase full of “women’s clothes” by the river. With it had been a bag with the address..
